Rocky Mountain Chamber Choir - Virtual Singers has been active for a while on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, but we wanted to expand to a place that was our own---and also expand our reach. If you've followed us from one of our other spaces, thanks for being here! And if you've newly found us from a web search or word of mouth, welcome! We hope you stick around!
How did this all start?
The idea for RMCC came when two friends got together to start recording the music that one of them had written. Somewhere in the middle of that project, we realized that other composers might also really like this service, especially since recordings really help market and sell music. From that, RMCC was born. While recording demos for living composers remains the core of our business, we have since expanded into tools to help teachers and other choir directors, including practice tracks and affordable, accessible editions of public domain music---and sometimes we just record music we love for fun!
Who are we?
RMCC is staffed by professional musicians and highly-trained amateurs. Our ranks include people with advanced degrees in choral conducting, composition, music education, voice, and more. We have experience in K-12, collegiate, community, professional, and studio ensembles as educators, conductors, performers, and composers. Collectively, we bring well over 100 years worth of relevant experience to our work. We love what we do!
Want to hear some of our work?
There are plenty of examples scattered across our website, and a whole lot more on YouTube. Check us out! And know that what you see there represents only a fraction of what we record. If you hear something you really like, check out the composer's website. Chances are they'll have even more music that interests you. We love working with so many different composers and discovering new music!
Can I get the music you record?
Sure can! Everything we record is available for ensembles, usually through the composers themselves or a distributor they work with. We always try to include information about where/how to get the score in our video details. If it's missing, try looking up the composer directly and reaching out to them.
Will you record my stuff? Can I audition as a singer? How does the public domain collection work? I have so many questions!
And we have answers! (Yes, yes, and click here.) Explore our website, send us an email, or just keep reading this blog. We have a lot of great stuff planned and we absolutely love engaging with the community of composers and other musicians that RMCC has already built. Thank you for being a part of it!
