English composer James Woodhall knows that sometimes everyone struggles. As a response to this, he wrote the deeply personal “When Darkness Descends,” a piece for double choir. When asked to describe the piece, James said:
“The piece is a message of hope. When there are dark times, which come to all of us at some point, things can be very difficult and lonely. My piece does not shy away or try to gloss over tough times but confirms that however hard things are, we are never alone and that day always follows night. I hope that choirs and audiences will enjoy the piece and that it will bring comfort to any who need it.”
