The first movement of Mendelssohn's Vespergesang, “Adspice Domine,” is an exciting and dramatic section, weaving moments of polyphony with a thrilling unison melisma at the end, all heightened by Mendelssohn’s masterful economy of voices and the vivid cello accompaniment.
